There is a lot of behind-the-scenes work that gets done
at Dakota Vision Center. Here are a few of the faces of our professional
staff who are making sure that you get the "Best Care in Sight."

Heather has 10 years experience taking care of patients' optical needs with the utmost professionalism. Heather is a Certified Optician licensed with the American Board of Opticianry and National Contact Lens Examiners.
Heather earned a B.A. in Psychology while working part time at an optical store to help pay for college. She liked the job so much she made it her career. "I found there is a lot of variety with being an optician," she explained. "I do patient care and sales so I'm not sitting at a desk all day long." When asked what makes a good optician, she said, "Always listen to the patient and really hear what they are saying. Also try to give them a lot of options and honest feedback." Heather and her husband Mick have two daughters ages 3 and 11." Heather enjoys being outdoors, especially hiking, camping, fishing, hunting and ATV riding.

One of the most important jobs of an optician is to fix eyeglasses
for people needing vision correction. For Nicole, it's what
she likes best about her job. "It's rewarding to design
and adjust lenses to help a patient see clearly again," she
said. Nicole has 8 years experience in eye care, having worked for
a large optical chain before joining Dakota Vision. She said she
loves working at Dakota Vision because "the environment is
positive. Everyone is so friendly and helpful." Even
with her work schedule and caring for her husband and four children,
Nicole still makes time to volunteer at several nursing homes each
month, adjusting and fixing glasses for the residents at no charge. "I
used to work at a nursing home so I really enjoy offering my services." Nicole
also enjoys spending time with her family, reading and painting ceramics.

Kim joined the Dakota Vision team three years ago at the invitation of Trisha, who is her Aunt. "I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do after college so I started helping out at Dakota Vision and found I really enjoyed eye care." Kim earned a degree in Psychology from USD and was also a waitress for 10 years so she understands the importance of providing good customer service. "We really go above and beyond for patients at Dakota Vision," she said. "We want people to get what they paid for and to be 100% satisfied. That's what sets us apart." Kim and her fiancé, Dan, enjoy going to movies and hanging out with friends and family.
