There is a lot of behind-the-scenes work that gets done
at Dakota Vision Center. Here are a few of the faces of our professional
staff who are making sure that you get the "Best Care in Sight."

Good opticians not only fill your prescriptions, but also listen to what you want. As an optician and optical lab technician, Brian Weber defines that description everyday whether he’s helping a patient select a frame style that compliments them or discussing the pros and cons of certain frames and lenses. Brian has been with Dakota Vision Center for more than six years and says he chose to work there “For the people,” adding, “This office had a certain reputation that meant a lot to me. The doctors and staff are wonderful to work for.” Brian and his wife, Tami, have two boys – Andy, age 9 and Alex, age 4. In his spare time, he enjoys coaching soccer, cooking and cheering for the Green Bay Packers.

A professional demeanor, superb communication skills, and a positive
attitude are attributes of a good receptionist. As a public face
of Dakota Vision Center, Jeri Lauay has portrayed those skills since
she joined the company in 2004. “I enjoy being at the front
desk and greeting patients,” Jeri said. Originally from
Duluth, MN, Jeri moved to Sioux Falls 15 years ago after her mother
moved to the area. Her aunt, Joanie Smith, also works at Dakota Vision.
Jeri believes Dakota Vision is unique because “Our patients
are patients for life. We get to know them personally, what they
need and want, and work hard to meet those needs.” When she’s
not helping patients, she enjoys spending time with her sons – Braydon,
age 7 and Ethan, age 2. And if the Eagles or 49’ers are playing,
she just might be near a TV.

Tim Washburn has more than 30 years experience in the optical industry, so when someone isn't sure what looks right, Tim's optical skills and caring touch helps patients over any hurdles. “I like people and the challenges of helping them fit glasses or contacts,” Tim said. A native of Wisconsin, Tim moved to Sioux Falls in 1988 and has been with Dakota Vision since 2003. Before working in eye care, he spent 4 years in the Navy as a hospital medic serving in Vietnam. When asked what makes Dakota Vision unique, he said, “Everything we do is to help our patients. We truly have a ‘whatever it takes’ philosophy.” A father to 2 grown daughters, Tim enjoys hunting, traveling and spending time with his grandkids.
