Scleral Lenses
Scleral lenses are large diameter rigid gas permeable lenses that completely cover the cornea. Scleral lenses are very comfortable because they do not touch the cornea. The cornea is bathed all day long with fluid to rejuvenate the ocular surface. You may benefit from scleral lenses if you have one of the following conditions:

  • Keratoconus
  • Post-corneal transplant
  • Severe dry eyes
  • Graft versus host disease
  • Chronic inflammatory conditions
  • Myopia
  • Hyperopia
  • Astigmatism
  • Presbyopia
  • Other corneal conditions

Corneal Refractive Therapy
Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT), also called orthokeratology or ortho-k, is the therapeutic process of wearing specially designed contact lenses that gently alter the curvature of the cornea to temporarily correct myopia typical effective up to -6.00 D). Studies have shown that corneal reshaping may slow the progression of childhood myopia. Ideal candidates for CRT include:

  • Mild to moderate myopia (-1.00 to -6.00)
  • Unable to have LASIK
  • Children too young to have LASIK
  • Myopic children with a family history of high myopia
  • Unable to wear glasses or contacts in a work environment
  • Unable to wear glasses or contact for sports
